Health, Physical Education and Recreation (B.S.) Physical Education Concentration
The mission of the Department of Health, Physical Education, and Recreation is to increase health equity throughout Mississippi. To accomplish this mission, the Physical Education major will train students to provide adolescents with cognitive content and instruction designed to develop motor skills, knowledge, and behaviors for a lifetime of physical activity, physical fitness, and good health. Students will receive hands-on student teaching during their senior year and upon completion of the program, will be licensed to teach in the K-12 school setting in Mississippi.

- Candidates that transfer 12 or more hours of college credit are exempt from UNIV 100 UNIVERSITY SUCCESS; however, the student must take 2 hours of general electives to replace the UNIV course.
